We are the only indemnified membership that provides you with no-cost alternative travel arrangements should you flight be disrupted due to unruly passenger events or in- flight medical emergencies requiring your flight to be diverted.
Our membership is for all travelers and for both domestic and international trips. We work with all airlines and work with leisure and business travel.
No, we are not insurance. We are an indemnified membership that arranges for and directly pays for alternate travel and lodging arrangements should a member’s flight be cancelled, delayed (more than 4 hours), diverted or there is a missed connection do to our list of service triggers.
Delay Defense Delay Benefits are available to any Member on a registered trip with a valid membership in accordance with these Rules and Regulations should the members flight (1) be cancelled; (2) delayed more than 4 hours; (3) diverted back to airport of origin or alternate airport; (4) subjecting the member to missing a connecting flight due to the following events:
A. Unruly or Disruptive Passenger:
A fellow traveler who behaves in a disruptive, threatening, or violent manner onboard an aircraft, interfering with the safety, order, or comfort of the flight, crew, or other passengers by (i) Refusing to follow crew instructions (e.g., not fastening seatbelt, not stowing items); (ii) Verbal or physical abuse toward staff or passengers; (iii) Intoxication from alcohol or drugs; (iv) Smoking or vaping onboard; (v) Tampering with aircraft equipment; (vi) Acts of aggression, harassment, or threats
B. Criminal Activity:
Behavior or actions by a fellow or non-fellow passenger that is in violation of local or federal law that results in the disruption of members scheduled flight activity to include (i) aircraft trespassing or stowaway; (ii) the making of bomb or terrorist threats; (iii) destruction, tampering or sabotaging of aircraft equipment.
C. Onboard Medical Emergency:
A sudden illness, injury, health condition or death affecting a fellow passenger or crew member during a flight that requires immediate medical attention or intervention that forces the diversion of the aircraft to a location other than the intended or scheduled destination.
D. Critical Mechanical Event:
When the members aircraft is subject to an unforeseen structural or mechanical compromise after departure from the gate that prevents safe flight or requires an emergency landing.
E. ATC and Aviation Infrastructure Event:
When a members flight is subject to delay or cancellation due to air traffic control and other aviation system infrastructure blackout or failure.

Yes, we will find you the best flight alternative to get you to your destination even if it is not with your original carrier.
Should the next best alternate flight leave the following day, Delay Defense will arrange for and pay for overnight lodging.
